Starting this month The blackgirlPOD will launch its Fall semester exploring the lives and legacies of Black women leaders in government: Shirley Chisholm, Barbara Jordan, Michelle Obama, and Kamala Harris. As we learn about these women we will consider the power and potential of our individual and collective voices for changing the world.

Our curriculum will blend reading, writing and performance to create interactive spaces for our girls to build sisterhood while also increasing their self-confidence and knowledge of Black history.
The Semester will kickoff with viewing of live dance and performing artists, Verb Ballet and a reading and discussion of Veronica Chamber's Shirley Chisholm is a Verb. Through our sessions we will explore the following essential questions:
How can our bodies and our lives speak?
What kind of messages do we want to share with the world?
How can we work together to amplify the messages we want to share?
Class will begin in-person Wednesday, September 15th from 4-5:30PM, and re-occur on Wednesday, September 23rd from 4-5:30PM.
Happy Fall Semester! Looking forward to seeing our old and new Peas in The POD!
