This month’s blackgirlPOD meetup was a beautiful reminder of the power of community, connection, and the brilliance of our girls. We kicked off our May gathering with real intention—making space for both reflection and dreaming forward.

10,000 Hours: Time as a Tool for Growth
One of the most powerful conversations we had centered around the idea of 10,000 hours—the concept that mastery in any area requires time, practice, and purpose. We explored how our girls can start using their time intentionally now to invest in themselves. Whether it’s learning new skills, building confidence, or pursuing a dream, they saw that growth isn’t something far off—it’s something they can step into every day.
We followed up with intentional goal-setting, giving each girl a chance to map out her intentions for the summer and the upcoming year. What mattered most? That their voices and passions guided the planning. Their ideas will shape what's ahead for The blackgirlPOD.
The Human Knot: Communication & Community in Action
Our community-building activity, the Human Knot, was a highlight. With laughter, leadership, and sharp communication, the girls worked together to solve it in just two minutes—yes, faster than most adults I’ve worked with (and I work with educators!). It was a powerful reminder of their natural collaboration and capability.

🚀 Coming This Summer:
The blackgirlPOD Business Bootcamp & Juneteenth Festival
We are so excited to officially launch our blackgirlPOD Business Bootcamp & Juneteenth Festival this summer!
Your daughters will move from idea to product launch, learning every step of the entrepreneurial journey:
Discovering problems and building products as solutions
Creating websites and platforms (like Wix)
Engaging in real-time pricing, ordering materials, and production
Practicing confidence and communication strategies
Launching their business at the Juneteenth Festival pop-up sale
💡 Cost: $400✨ $50 of that goes directly toward launching their business—real materials, real investments, real ownership.

👩🏾💻 Parent/Caregiver Orientation: Sunday, June 1 | 3:00–4:30 PM
Before camp kicks off, we’re hosting a virtual orientation to help parents/caregivers set up key (free) business tools like Wix, so you're ready to support your girl's business planning and launch journey.
💬 Summer Meetups = More Sisterhood, New Space
Our monthly meetups continue, and this summer, we’re excited to gather in a new location:
📍 South Euclid Public Library from 2:30-4:30PM

The girls shared that they want to stay connected more often—and we’re here for it! In addition to our Sunday sessions, more community-based social meetups are on the way. Be sure to stay tuned to your email and our calendar updates.
Thank you for being part of a movement that empowers Black girls to lead, dream, and build. This summer will be filled with learning, laughter, and legacy.
