The blackgirlPOD did Verb Ballet

We had a great time checking out the performance of Verb Ballet! As the ballerinas were spun and tossed, their dance was met with ooohs and ahhhs from our girls (and maybe even a few from the moms and dad). A good time was had by all.

The mood of dance swung between light and dainty to dark and powerful - providing a really engaging and exciting performance!

The evening marked a great kickoff for upcoming conversations about the book Shirley Chisholm is a Verb by Veronica Chambers. We’ll learn about the Shirley Chisholm and her legacy as a politician and educator - examine what she did and consider what we might do to help others in our homes, schools and community.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing how the girls think about themselves as verbs, and empowering them to continue to be the change they wish to see in the world.
