"If they don't give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair." We will begin exploring the life and legacy of former US Congresswoman and 1st Black woman to run for presidential office, Shirley Chisholm, while also considering how we can use our words & our actions to change the world.

About the Event
Together we will read Shirley Chisholm is a Verb to begin exploring the life and legacy of Shirley Chisolm, while also considering how we can use our words and our actions to change the world.
This interactive session will provide girls with an opportunity to:
Distinguish words associated with different parts of speech (namely verbs in the present and past tense),
Use those verbs to write creatively about what they would do in an imagined scenario
Work collaboratively to build a rescue item using provided items, and
Present their creation and writing with the group.
