Herpetology 101: An Introduction to Reptiles
Herpetology 101 is a multi-session, place-based learning program designed to introduce girls to the fascinating world of reptiles through hands-on experiences, community service, and project-based learning.
Participants will learn directly from the founder of Herps Alive in Cleveland, gaining firsthand knowledge about reptiles, their habitats, behaviors, and care. While on site, girls will engage in guided, hands-on learning with live reptiles and participate in meaningful service activities that support the organization and its mission.
The Program will run for 3-weeks: Mondays on April 13, 20, and 27th from 4-6pm.
As part of the program, girls will also complete a project-based learning experience, working collaboratively to create a non-fiction reptile guidebook that demonstrates what they have learned. This guidebook will incorporate research, observation, and creative design, helping participants build research, writing, and critical-thinking skills.
