Online Course Description Blackgirls ages 6-11 from around the world will come together to examine the environmental issue of waste management and the role of plastic in global warming for people in America and Africa. They will learn about environmental conditions of Njau, The Gambia West Africa, examine the life and legacy of Isatou Ceesay and the Recycling Women of the Gambia, and apply principles of design and social entrepreneurship to develop an action plan to address an environmental problem they care most about. The course will conclude with an end-of-semester virtual symposium where the girls will present their work. Course Details This live 8-week course will be facilitated by Dr. Heather Hill (POD Leader and College Professor) and will meet weekly, and run 1 hour. Enrollment includes access to digital community and course materials.
